Queenyy announces the release of her highly anticipated ep – Distance

Multi-talented artist Queenyy, announces the release of her long awaited, profound EP, Distance on October 30th, 2020. This follows the release of the first official, nostalgic single from the project, “Replace Him.”

The collected works were recorded both internationally and in her hometown. Both “Replace Him,” and the title track, “Distance,” were recorded in Ottawa, Ontario with reputable sound engineer, 613tino. The free-spirited interlude “Broken English,” was recorded across seas in Switzerland by the boisterous artist herself. Queenyy
states, “I titled the interlude ‘Broken English,’ because every time I leave a country of another language, after spending at least a month there, my English becomes broken and sometimes I fall in love. I just loved the vibe and energy of this recording as it was a freestyle. Everything I’m saying or trying to say comes from a real place and even though how I say it isn’t ‘perfect,’ you can feel what I’m saying. Every time I listen to it I get goose bumps.”

The mix mastermind on this EP is none other than Ottawa’s very own, Carde Blanche. With a collaborative effort from all parties, Distance offers Queenyy’s rapidly growing fan base a taste of her confidence and vulnerability on an intrapersonal level. Each song carries its own components of alternative to contemporary R&B as well as hiphop elements and ensures that listeners will be given the auditory journey this record deserves. She went on to say, “Distance, is a short story about falling in love overseas and the struggle of trying to maintain a relationship from a distance. 3 different moods, 3 different sounds – one project.” With a music video already released for “Replace Him,” Queenyy is following suit with the other two songs on the project by giving them their own spotlight through emotion matched visuals.

Known for her soulful sound and unapologetic personality, Distance touches on the artistic versatility of Queenyy, swaying from heavy hitting 90’s R&B elements all the way to softer, reminiscent grooves. This three track record offers a true sonic voyage from start to finish as Queenyy continues to add her own flair to the melodies she creates.
